TV rights to Longoria, French football in shock: "We are immersed in ridicule, we need calm"

Accusations of corruption of a referee, repeated nervous breakdowns among the leaders, threat of trial... French football seems to be sinking deeper into the doldrums every week.
By Christophe Bérard , (with CS)It has been well understood for several weeks that the summit meetings of French leaders mostly resemble schoolyard brawls. And only between dunces skipping maths class, so many have put their club's accounts in the red. Almost every day, we are treated to a revelation of a conflict between club presidents or the wish of a TV broadcaster, feeling wronged, not to pay what he owes.
The penultimate episode being the announcement by DAZN, which broadcasts 8 Ligue 1 matches each week, to sue the Football League for 573 million euros (309 for deception on the merchandise and 264 for failure observed). More than what the British streaming platform is supposed to pay each year. Which would make French football, if justice ruled in favor of DAZN, the only European championship to pay its own broadcaster… In this quagmire, we have fun as best we can. But this Titanic atmosphere, with the orchestra continuing to play during the sinking, has not even been relevant since this weekend.
